WHY PEOPLE COME ALL THIS WAY

Because this is more than a kite trip

LEARN IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITIONS

Buen Hombre combines strong, reliable trade winds with a shallow, protected lagoon and plenty of space to learn.

Published spot statistics put Buen Hombre at around 15 knots average versus 11 knots in Cabarete, with roughly twice as many days above 12 knots.

Strong wind outside. Protected water inside.

MORE THAN YOUR BOOKED LESSON

Your learning doesn't stop when the formal lesson ends.

Around the camp, at breakfast and around the dinner table, there is always kite conversation happening — questions, technique, conditions, stories and advice.

You are not just buying hours on the water. You are becoming part of a kite environment.

WE'LL HANDLE THE REST.

DAY 2

FIRST WIND
Wake up by the water. After breakfast, check the conditions and head out for your first session — whether that's your first-ever lesson or your first ride of the trip. By sunset, you'll understand why people come all this way. The week starts on the water.

DAY 3

FIND YOUR RHYTHM
More time on the kite. More confidence. More riding. Between sessions, there's time for lunch, a swim, a walk through the village, or simply doing nothing for a while. Then the wind comes back. And so do you.

DAY 4

BEYOND THE LAGOON
Not every great day has to be spent kiting. Take a boat. Explore the coast. Visit Cayo Arena / Paradise Island. Head toward Punta Rucia or discover another corner of Monte Cristi. Or stay close and ride again. The choice is yours.

DAY 5

RIDE, EXPLORE, REPEAT. By now, the place starts to feel familiar. You know the lagoon. You know where to eat.
You know who is going out on the water. And you're riding with more confidence. This is when a holiday starts feeling like a life.

DAY 6
Your Caribbean Rhythm: Coffee. Wind. Ocean. Bigger Kites, Stronger Wind, Riding with Real Confidence Now.

DAY 7

Maybe it's another long session. Maybe it's a boat adventure.

Maybe you're ready to experience another side of the Dominican Republic.

And when the sun starts going down, everyone ends up around the table again — sharing stories from the day.

One more sunset. One more session. One more story.

This isn't just a kitesurf holiday.

It's waking up to the sound of the ocean.

Coffee before the wind picks up.

Walking barefoot to breakfast.

Learning with instructors who know your name.
Landing your first ride—and celebrating it with people who were strangers just days before.

Exploring the coast and nearby islands by boat.

Sharing fresh seafood around one long dinner table as the sun disappears over the water.

Watching tomorrow's forecast while already thinking about coming back.

Some holidays fade.

The best ones become stories you'll tell for years.

That's what we create.

SINCE 2013

WE DIDN'T BUILD A KITE SCHOOL.
WE BUILT A PLACE PEOPLE RETURN TO.

When we arrived in Buen Hombre, we weren't trying to build the biggest kite school in the Caribbean. We wanted to build the kind of place we'd always hoped still existed — where instructors know your name, guests become friends, and every trip feels personal.

Kite Buen Hombre is the Dominican Republic's only two-location kite school with its own accommodation in both locations and a full-service trip experience.

More than a decade later, that idea still guides everything we do. Today, Kite Buen Hombre is the first IKO Pro Center in Monte Cristi province, with a second base in Cabarete — and every guest who joins us becomes part of that same story.

A great destination matters.

But the people you share it with are what you'll remember most.

Meet the local team that welcomes every guest like family.

“Buen Hombre has the best conditions I have found in all of the DR — shallow flat water protected by reef, the strongest wind and beautiful sandy beaches. When the rest of the country has no wind, there is still wind in BH.”
